The most exciting month of the year for LA’s theatre scene is upon us. The Hollywood Fringe is here and as jam-packed as ever, with over 400 shows performing over the next few weeks!!!

While the twenty shows (and five off-fringe shows) I’ve shared below are a drop in the ocean, I hope this eclectic mix, which caught my interest, gives you a starting point to enjoying some great theatre and comedy this month!

I’ll also be sharing shows on our stories all month.

20 HOLLYWOOD FRINGE PERFORMANCES NOT TO MISS

1. Murder, Oops!
   June 8 - 29 | The Broadwater (Studio)
   A one woman PLAY about falling in love with your boyfriend’s murderer. And the next guy who shows up. And the one after that. And the one after that.

2. Pandora's Boombox
   June 9 - 28 | Actors Company
   Two Clowns. One Problem. No Dialogue. Get back to utopia 🌿 If you like Mr. Bean, you’ll enjoy this nonverbal, family friendly comedy full of laughs. Before Pandora released stress into the world, harmony and a good night’s sleep were easy to come by. But now, well, now we’re all just trying.

3. Titi Lee: Good Girl Gone Baddie
   June 8 - 22 | The Yard Theatre
   Lifelong “goody-two-shoes” Titi Lee is bad at following rules, but even worse at breaking them. How does a non-binary bisexual first-gen Taiwanese American, who was once the apple of their parents' eyes, become the man of their own dreams?

4. QFWFQ
   June 8 - June 28 | LA LGBT Center
   A solo performance without a fourth wall, loosely based on Italo Calvino’s If On a Winter’s Night a Traveler. A labyrinthine, surrealist journey that touches on the politics of gender, music, international relations and storytelling itself, QFWFQ is a show that never begins nor ends.

5. PEEP
   June 10 - 27 | The Hobgoblin Playhouse
   Peep is a comedy variety show from multi-hyphenate Pamela and Erik. It includes sketch, dance, physical comedy, stunt work, improv, and a wee bit o’ clown. It’s silliness, camp, and play chaotically thrown and tossed about.

6. GIRL BLOOD (a period piece)
   June 7 - 25 | The Broadwater (Second Stage)
   First periods, used pads, queerness, and the struggles of growing up, all erupt from this funny and endearing 90-minute play about girlhood.

7. STUCK
   June 14 - 29 | The Broadwater (Black Box)
   A man and a woman, total strangers, find themselves stuck together in a New York City elevator. As time goes on, the conversation grows, and these two strangers begin to reveal themselves.

8. πr² (Pi R square)
   June 18 - 29 | The Broadwater (Main Stage)
   Physical theatre solo woman performance with aerials and live artcraft projections. A speachless journey through human emotions inspired by North American native ceremonies. Life as an infinite spiral in constant expansion.

9. El Mago Loco
   June 22 - June 28 | The Cats Crawl
   A magician who only does what he knows: Latino magic tricks! But what happens when you show up and the audience isn’t 100% Latino? What follows is only una noche to prove his worth (magically, of course) and the discovery that true happiness in mediocrity is better than someone else’s (you!) version of success.

10. The Time Machine
    June 8 - June 28 | The Broadwater (Second Stage)
    The Time Machine is a gender-bent reimagining of H.G. Wells’ classic science-fiction novel. This subversive take embraces simplicity and theatricality of the story utilizing mask work, movement, music and puppetry.

11. Todd Macabre
    June 14 - 29 | The Madnani Theater (Main Space)
    A fog-drenched dreamscape where classic horror collides with modern vulnerability. Todd Macabre, your unreliable narrator, leads you through the eerie woods of his neurodivergent mind. This is clowning at its most exposed: a wild, theatrical autopsy of queerness, internal battles, and the strange joy that lives in unearthing the truth, even when it terrifies you.

12. Absolute Legends!
    June 7 - 27| The Broadwater Main Stage
    A two person clown show about Hercules and Yuri Gagarin (the first person in space) premiering at The Hollywood Fringe! Tickets are PAY WHAT YOU CAN!

13. Rise of a King
    June 12 - 18 | Greenway Court Theatre
    A cosmic, gender-bending joyride, this burlesque extravaGAYnza blends drag, astrology, and raw storytelling to untangle the mess and magic of growing up—while rewriting the rules of who gets to wear the crown.

14. THE EXIT INTERVIEW
    June 19 - 21 | Skiptown Playhouse
    A genre-blending solo show from comedian and musician Kevin August. Transferred through six schools by seventh grade, Kevin maps his evolution as an ever-adapting new kid — shapeshifting to fit in, class clowning to stand out, and discovering who we become when we stop performing. Smart, surreal, and deeply human.

15. Just To Be Close To You
    June 7 - June 28 | The Broadwater Studio
    A solo clown show where renowned lounge singer, Carl Poteraychke, will serenade you and show you what it means to love…just for an hour. Expect to be thoroughly wooed.

16. Until Death
    June 10 - June 29 | The Cats Crawl
    Nalini Sharma is a bat trapped in a hospital. Her not-so-solo show, UNTIL DEATH, combines absurd theater and clown to explore the liminal space where time collapses and humans panic in moments of death and existence.

17. The Life of Charlie Chaplin
    June 12 - 19 | The Broadwater (Main Stage)
    All the way from Australia, this is the award-winning fringe show about the life of Charlie Chaplin gives a ‘stunning one-hour treatment’ to the extraordinary life and career of one of the greatest physical comedians of all time.

18. Rag Doll On a Bomb Site
    June 8 - 21 | Hudson Theatres
    An Original Solo Musical. A contemporary ballet. It’s opening night of The Threepenny Opera in Berlin, 1928 when Kurt Weill steps into Lotte Lenya’s dressing room and drops a bombshell that her name is not in the program.

19. Funeral Show
    June 8 - June 29 | The Broadwater (Studio)
    Elena Martinez’s one-woman dark comedy pokes around in the well-known wound of when your parental relationship becomes terminal. You’re all invited to a musical, drag, clown spectacle that seeks closure when your parent is neither gone, forgotten…nor in your life.

20. A Needless and Wasteful Requirement
    June 8 - 21 | Zephyr Theatre
    Two enthusiastic performers take on one of the classic works of the theater of the absurd, just as soon as their lawyer wraps things up with the playwright’s estate. They’re sure they’ll be legally allowed to perform any minute now, after all, the only thing standing in their way is decades of entrenched sexism.

1. Harriet, Alone
   June 22 | The Stomping Ground | Alhambra
   When a research scientist submits a report to a government agency, strange things happen.

2. Lear Redux

   June 9 - July 13 | Odyssey Theatre Ensemble | Sawtelle
   A Quantum Fantasia inspired by the play King Lear.

3. White Rabbit Red Rabbit

   June 9 - June 22 | The Fountain Theatre | East Hollywood

   Explores the restrictions, censorship, and denial of individual choice faced under a harsh regime.

4. Conversion Camp
   June 26 | UCB
   An all queer cast will be piling into the mess hall for a night of characters, stand up, music and improv! Hosted by queer performers Charlie James and Nick Murhling, Conversion Camp is meant to be enjoyed by gay and straight alike.

5. Love’s End

   June 9 - June 15 | Odyssey Theatre | Sawtelle

   A couple try to end and to close their shared story. Using physical movement when words alone do not suffice.
